Sarah | Utah Portrait Photographer

Sarah reached out to me on Instagram to set up a shoot with me. She explained to me that every year she lets her afro loose to do an 'afro shoot' for her mom + grandma. (Isn't her hair the most gorgeous thing you've seen?!) I was so stoked when she told me she didn't have a preference for a location, so I decided we would do something a little different and go to our local high school's football field and utilize the bleachers. This setting couldn't have been more perfect for her, her outfit, and her vibes.

I've worked with a lot of models in the years I've done photography, and I haven't seen anyone be quite as comfortable in front of the camera, by themselves, like Sarah was. She was quick to try every crazy idea I had, and she always put a twist on my ideas to make them her own. I was in heaven this entire shoot.

Talking with Sarah during her shoot I learned that she's attending USU and a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority on campus. She's honestly one of the sweetest people I've had the pleasure of meeting with this job, and I felt like we clicked from the moment we started shooting. Sarah radiates confidence, kindness, + positivity. So thankful I was able to shoot her annual afro pictures!

Meet Sarah!
