First of all, I would like to say that Mother Nature is bipolar. As I’ve said before, though, when you’re a photographer you have to fight through all weather conditions to keep your clients happy.
Especially when it’s a one day event that needs documenting.
Aside from the gloomy skies and wet conditions, these highschoolers looked AMAZING. Whenever I photograph dance groups it makes me miss getting all glammed up for my dances. After changing locations mid shoot for my first group, and to my surprise, the weather began to clear up.
Finally those bright skies I love to shoot under that I haven’t seen for weeks!
As I said above, I had to switch locations for my first group. I originally planned to take their photos in Logan Canyon, because it is so gorgeously green! However, it was raining more there than it was in Logan, so we had to relocate. I decided to shoot at Old Main. I thought it was poetic since some of the seniors would be attending USU next year. (Or maybe it was just close and convenient.)
I had a bast shooting my first group. They were such a fun loving group, but my night didn’t stop with just one prom-going group.
The second group I photographed went a little more smoothly. Lucky ducks didn’t have to deal with the rain. After that wave of grey skies passed, it was nothing but golden sunlight for me to get my camera on.
This group looked just as fantastic as the first, and I had just as much fun during their session.
Good luck to all these seniors in all that they do in the next years. Your life is just beginning!
But, there will always be something about dressing up for dances.
