For their formals, Nate + Izzie had the dream of having them taken at Antelope Island. I was gung-ho about this idea, because Antelope Island is such a dreamy location. I always say that it looks like you're somewhere outside of Utah without traveling very far. So, that was the plan for their formal session! Of course, Mother Nature had other plans..
The day of the shoot, it was a perfect day in good ol' Cache Valley. However, Antelope Island is about an hour drive. While making the trek to location, I noticed the sky getting blacker and blacker. I thought, "Eh, no sweat. We can deal with a little bit of rain." WAS I WRONG. This weather was truly THE WORST weather I had ever seen on a shoot date. Not only was it pelting rain, the wind was insane. I took a little stroll around my fav spot to shoot on Antelope Island, and I was almost blown over. We made the game plan to try and wait out the storm. A half hour passed, and we decided to go for it. Luckily the rain had stopped, but THE WIND, oh the wind.
We shot for about a half hour, and decided we would wake up at the crack of dawn the following morning and do the remainder of their shoot in Green Canyon. It was a brisk, slightly windy, morning. These two couldn't catch a break, but they didn't let the weather get them down!
If you haven't met this couple, you're missing out! They are two of the sweetest people you will ever meet. I absolutely loved the time I spent getting to know them and capturing their love.
