As I sit here writing this blog post, it's currently a blizzard outside and I have a gnarly cold. As if looking through these pictures alone wouldn't make me miss summer. I have been, and I always will be, a summer girl.
Kaleb and Shay's summer wedding was a beautiful one. It was the perfect temperature, not too hot and not too cold. I was psyched to finally work with my good pal Reggie on our first wedding, and I couldn't wait for the two love birds to finally be Mr. and Mrs. I had high hopes for this day, and it definitely did not disappoint.
The newlyweds excited the temple with the BIGGEST grins on their faces. They were immediately surrounded by hugs from all the important peeps in their life. Truth be told, this is one of my favorite moments during an LDS wedding day. Nothing beats it.
If you've ever been to an LDS wedding, you know exactly what happens next. All the guests are herded like cattle to the family photo location, and I'm the cattle dog - HOLLA! We breezed through the family/bridal party photos with ease, and moved onto the Kaleb and Shay's individual pictures around the temple grounds. It was magical, and we hit up all my normal fav spots at the Logan temple.
Fast forward to the reception. It was held at the Copper Mill in their indoor/outdoor reception area. This venue doesn't need much decoration, but it was decorated beautifully. The outdoor portion of the reception was complete with a gazebo and hanging flower arrangements.
My favorite part about receptions is that every couple makes it their own with special traditions. It just so happens that in Kaleb's family it's custom to swallow a fish at the reception. Guys, THIS MOMENT WAS PRICELESS. Kaleb swallowed the fish no problem, but Shay, well let's just say she reacted in the same way I would have!
The remainder of the night consisted of a cake cutting, first dances, and a huge dance party with all of Kaleb and Shay's closest friends.
I'm so thankful for the time I spent getting to know Kaleb + Shay as a couple. I can honestly say they compliment each other so well. It was always an adventure with these two, from locking their keys in their car to me encouraging Shay to hike a mountain in her wedding dress. I love these two so much, and I can't wait to see where life takes them!
Meet Mr. and Mrs. Shoell.
