This session was a DREAM. Seriously I couldn’t have dreamed up a better engagement session for this couple. Taylor is my sister-in-law and we had been planning the specifics of this shoot for what felt like forever, but I am so glad that we planned out the details. Taylor decided that she wanted a location that was unique, but nothing to crazy. We came to the conclusion that the poppy fields in Mantua would be a perfect destination for them to show off their love to my camera.
I had never shot at the poppy fields, and when we pulled up I almost had a panic attack. THERE WERE AT LEAST 60 PEOPLE IN THE SMALL FIELD. I knew there would be people, but I wasn’t prepared for how many. My gears began turning and I finally decided how I was going to attack this people infested location – claim a spot and stay there until another one opened up. I was pleasantly surprised by how many shots I got without people in the background. Photog win! As far as the others with people in the background, it’s a good thing the Clone Stamp tool in Photoshop exists!
I had spent time with Austin and Taylor before, but there was something different about photographing them. Their love for each other was so evident during their session. It was almost as if I was invited to their little lovers bubble for one night. They reminded me of why I got into photographing couples in the first place – to document their unique love in the short amount of time they spend in front of my camera. I couldn’t have handpicked a better man to marry Taylor. I know their lives together will be fulled with love, laughter, and adventure.
IS IT AUGUST 11TH YET?!
Meet the gorgeous couple, Austin + Taylor.
